MASS Odisha

MASS was conceptualized and founded by Anthropology students from Sambalpur University in Odisha in 1988. Today local and international institutions support MASS in their expansion of resource centres and grassroots advocacy for the poor of the western belt of Odisha. Their work strives to create sustainable space for the communities they serve to develop agriculture techniques, water conservation, and maintain biodiversity in a manner that is culturally viable, ecologically friendly, and gender-balanced. Currently MASS is supporting their community through the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing PPE, educating on the importance of hygiene and social distancing, and aiding people with food and work insecurities.

MASS is a community based non-profit in India promoting sustainable land use and conservation of resources

A farming system that uses more local resources and fewer external inputs in order to develop a more positive relationship or balance between humans and the environment.
